ABOUT THE INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SIMATS Engineering, established in 2002, has grown into a center of excellence for producing competent electrical engineers equipped with core technical knowledge and professional skills necessary to face future challenges. The Institute offers a B.Tech program accredited by IET-UK with an intake of 60 students annually, following a curriculum that blends fundamental theories with emerging technologies and practical applications. The dedicated team of 22 highly qualified and experienced faculty members, including several with doctoral degrees, actively engages in teaching, research, and consultancy activities, with numerous publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents filed, and research projects completed.
The curriculum is periodically updated in consultation with industry, academia and alumni to incorporate emerging technologies, hands-on laboratory work, mini and capstone projects, and interdisciplinary components, ensuring strong conceptual understanding and practical problem-solving skills. Emphasis is placed on modelling and simulation, hardware implementation and system-level thinking so that graduates can effectively translate theory into real-world applications. The Institute has strong focus on student outcomes with excellent placement records in leading companies such as Tata Motors, Mahindra Electric, L&T, ABB, Siemens, and other electrical and electronics industries. State-of-the-art laboratories, research centers and computing facilities support experimental learning, prototype development and innovation, while value-added courses and professional society activities provide additional avenues for skill enhancement and leadership development.
Students actively participate in internships with industry partners, working on live projects in areas of power systems, renewable energy installations, EV charging infrastructure, and automation systems. The Institute regularly organizes workshops, faculty development programs, expert lectures, and technical symposiums on contemporary topics, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
